Our 1st ever “Torch Run” in San Diego for the
“Opening Ceremonies” San Diego Senior Olympics
 
SUNDAY August 30th, 2009- 5:30-9:00 pm
     ­    COME OUT AND CHEER ON THE RUNNERS ALONG THE ROUTE
 
“You’re Never Too Old To Be a Champion”
 
The torch run will begin at the USS Midway, continue up Harbor Drive to Nimitz Blvd, then onto Sunset Cliffs Blvd, and will continue down SeaWorld Drive, heading East along Friars Road to Fashion Valley Rd turning South toward Hotel Circle where it will finish at the Handlery Hotel & Resort.
 
There will be entertainment, silent auctions, and raffle for prizes. There will also be many local dignitaries and special guests; the US Marine Corps, Color Guard, Veteran Marathon Swimmer Becky Jackman, and one of the original Torch carriers for the 1984 U. S. Olympics, Robin Pain.
 
This is an event you WILL NOT want to miss! Reserve your seats now with a $20.00 donation! We are limited to the 1st 350 reservations!

The San Diego Senior Sports Festival (SDSSF) is a California non-profit corporation committed
to encouraging adults, age 50 and over, to carry on vigorous lives by developing and maintaining
adequate personal physical fitness through regular participation in recreational activities, sports,
physical fitness activities and educational programs. We are the only organization in San Diego who offers older adults the opportunity to compete in multiple Olympic style-sporting events
